My Life: Outstanding October

My name is Audrina && this is my life.

The monthly posts are posted only at the end of every month, reflecting on my month. This month was October and I have to say it was outstanding!

Spirit Week: For those of you who don't know about Spirit Week click here for a description. The themes at my school this year were Monday Neon Day, Tuesday Blast from the Past, Wednesday Western Day, Thursday Celebrity Day and Friday School Colors Day. This is the first time I dressed up for everything. It was so much fun!

Homecoming Game: This is probably the most fun I have ever had in my life with my friends. The evening started of with the Homecoming Parade. I didn't get to go to that, but my friend Elena was in it because she was a candidate for Homecoming Queen. After the parade Elena came to my house to picked me up. We drove to Subway and had dinner there with my friends Clayton, Kaylee and Annie. Clayton's sandwich is something I will never forget. It was BEAST. Then we went to Elena's house because she lives right by our school and waited for a few more friends to come. Once John, who is Elena's boyfriend and one of our other friends, Audra came we finally decided to go to the game. We stayed till half time to find out if Elena won or not, which she did! Then we went to John's house and ate donuts from his sister's new sweets shop that is opening in November. Then we went to Clayton's house and watched I Love You Man. Finally I walked over to my house since Clayton only lives three houses down from my house. Literally the best time I have had with friends and something I will never forget. Especially all the inside jokes.

Hanging out with friends: I got to hangout with my friends so much is month. I loved it! From seeing Footloose (Click here for my review) to going to homecoming to going on shopping trips to just walking around the neighborhood, its all so much fun.  I love my friends!

Finding the Perfect Jeans

What's better than putting on a pair of jeans that makes you look and feel good? This guide is to help you feel and look hot, no matter what body type you are.

Petite
Try jeans with a short inseam. Jeans that bunch at the ankles have a messy look and actually make you look shorter! I shorter length will show off your legs and make them seem longer. When looking at jeans, also see if there is shading down the center of the thighs or contrast stitching on the waistband. The shading makes your legs seem more toned, and the stitching defines your waist to show off a tiny frame!

Tall
Try jeans with a long inseam. Jeans in an extra-long length will make your legs look really long. When looking at jeans, try on some with the higher waistband on your hips so your legs look super long! Also check out some distressed wash jeans, they draw eyes to your legs. Don't be embarrassed of your height, embrace it!

Flat Butt
Try some jeans with a faded back. The amp up your backside with fading under the butt! A light-denim wash fills out your booty even more! Jeans with flap pockets will lift your butt to make it look high and tight. Darts on the butt pockets make your butt look rounder. Folded pockets add texture to fill you out in a cute way :)

Curvy Butt
Dark wash jeans are a must. Dark wash stretch jeans give you a sleek look. Plus, they hug and boost your butt so it looks great! Jeans with studs along your hips frame and sculpt your butt. Jeans with a higher back don't show your butt when you sit. Grey jeans are also a cool and slimming alternative to dark blue jeans.

Curvy All Over
Try straight leg jeans. Go for a fit that doesn't dig or cling; that way, you can show off your curves without over exaggerating them! Shaping straight leg jeans 'suck in' your tummy with a special panel, so all eyes are on your legs! Stretchy straight leg jeans will hug your curves without bunching.

Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser

I came across this cleanser called Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser by Aveeno at the drugstore a two years ago. Ever since then I have been repurchasing this every October. I guess that says it is working pretty great for me. It claims to improve skin's tone and texture and clears up blemishes without overdrying, leaving skin soft, smooth and even looking.

Image from here.

How to use?
Just it like anyother facial cleanser.

How often to use?
I use mine every moring and night starting middle of October going into November. I do this because my skin gets very dry because the seasons are transitioning during this time, but I can't use a cream cleanser because that leaves my skin feeling oily all day long. (I have naturally oily skin, but when summer changes to fall my skin gets dry.)

Pros:
Affordable
Nice Scent
Removes Makeup
Gentle
Help Prevent Over Dy Skin
Soft Skin

Cons:
Runs out quickly

Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara

Image is from Maybelline

Maybelline came out with a new "Great Lash" mascara, I'm sure most of you remember the original Great Lash mascara which came out a long time ago. Honestly, I hated that mascara! I was really skeptical about buying this new formula, but for the great price I couldn't resist!

Image is from Maybelline

The old mascara had a horrible brush and the formula was too wet! Their new mascaras new brush called "Great Little Grabber", it's suppose to give you lots of volume, no clumps or mess. The formulation is quite similar to the old great lash mascaras, but with a wand like this it works pretty good. I can see a huge difference made between this and the old one.

Price:
$5.49

Pros:
Great Brush
Adds Volume
Price

Cons:
Same Old Wet Formula (but works well with new brush)
Clumps If More Than 3 Coats Are Applied

My Life: Cut Loose, Footloose

My name is Audrina && this is my life.
Last night I went to go see Footloose with a couple of my friends. I honestly didn't have high hopes for it at all, but my friends talked me into it. The movie stars two newcomers, Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and one guy we all know and love, Dennis Quaid. I thought the movie was actually pretty good! The acting was believable, the dancing was good and the clothes were very cute. I think it is a great movie to see whether your hanging out with the girls (like me!) or on a date.

I don't own image. Got it from here.
Rating:
PG-13

Description:
"City kid Ren MacCormack moves to a small town where rock 'n' roll and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace." -IMDb

Verdict:
Really fun, cute movie to watch for pass time. Plus, Kenny Wormald is really enjoyable to stare at!

Viva La Juicy

Everyone has their signature scent, this is mine. It is Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy. I wear this scent all year long. I have been using this for two years and am now on my second bottle. Even after two years of wearing this scent at least once a week, I still get compliments on it! People are always saying "You smell good!" or "What perfume are you wearing?" I love the packaging of the bottle. It has a necklace on it as well as a bow that you can remove and wear.

Notes:
Wild Berries, Mandarins, Honeysuckle, Gardenia, Jasmine, Amber, Caramel, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Praline

Shoes of Prey

Ever seen a pair of shoes and loved them, but there is something missing or something on them that you could live without? Well now you can be the designer of your own shoes, whether it be flats, gladiators or heels. How you may ask? Shoes of Prey!

They ship all over the world, at a 4-6 weeks time frame. Well, considering that these customized shoes will be hand-made, I don’t see why we should be demanding the work to be at a shorter time frame. There are so many options and different ways to design your shoes. They are different colors you can choose from and different type of material you can have your shoes made of. There's other a gallery where you can look and get inspiration. One downside is that the shoes are expensive, since they are custom made and handmade. Will you try this out or is it not worth the money?

One of my most favorite Fall/Winter drinks is hot chocolate. So, when I was at my friend Corrine's house on Sunday we decided to make some. She showed me how to make hot chocolate from Nutella. You guys literally HAVE to try this, its so good!

Grow Long, Healthy Hair

Growing out your can be a long process! Here are my top ten tricks to making that process go by a little faster.

1. Make sure you drink lots and lots of water. It's healthy for you, your body, and your hair.
2. Get small trims every once in a while to prevent split ends that can travel up your hair.
3. Don't use a lot of heat that will damage hair.

4. Massage your roots with olive oil. Olive oil makes hair healthy and long.
5. Eat healthy! Foods vitamins and minerals help hair growth.

6. Don't do really tight hairstyles that will pull and tug on your hair causing breakage.
7. Wear it natural. Give it a break!

8.Condition!
9. Use a good quality brush, like a wide tooth comb that doesn't break your hair.
10. RELAX! Stress can cause excess hair loss.

Clinique Blended Face Powder

After I apply my foundation I always have to apply a powder to set it or else I feel like my makeup is incomplete. The Clinique Blended Loose Face Powder is something I have been using for three months now. I got this product because I was getting sick of my MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural. Now don't get me wrong, I love my MSFN but I just needed a change. Plus I found that the slight shimmer in the powder didn't work well with my oily skin. So when I was at Sephora one day a girl who works there showed me this powder and I got it.
This powder gives light coverage and evens out my skin tone, and I don't feel oily or shiny at all! I am currently using this on over my Cover Girl Nature Luxe Foundation, and the combination is amazing! It almost feels as if you aren't wearing any makeup at all. I have naturally oily skin, but when I wear the power it make the oilyness all go away.  It also doesn't give a caked on look. You can touch or rub your face and it won't come off. The package comes with an application brush, which works well with the product however I'm not a big fan of the brush because it is not very soft like my MAC brushes, so I just use my MAC brushes instead.

Price:
$20

Pros:
Reduces Oiliness
Reduces Redness
Not Cakey
Natural Look

Cons:
Price
Small Color Range
Brush Not Soft

Marc Jacobs Daisy

One of my go-to scents for Fall is Marc Jacobs Daisy. I know most people would think that its more of a Spring scent, but personally I just love it for Fall. Here is a review on the perfume. Overall I just really love the scent I think its great for all ages specifically teens to mid thirties, but any one can work it! I love the scent! I think its very feminine and girly without being too sweet. Its great for work and school. A bonus is the packaging of the bottle. Its just so adorable! It looks so cute just sitting on my dresser. I find myself looking at it ever once in a while and just smiling.

If your a nail polish addict like myself, five months ago you probably had a panic attack when you found out butter LONDON was going to now be sold at your local ULTA. (your wallet probably had a panic attack too.) Here is my over all review on these polishes plus my top picks!

I was kind of hesitant to buying this brand of polish because it is double the price of OPI and Essie polishes. However, being the nail polish addict that I am I had to try out the brand. I finally caved this past weekend after thinking about it all summer long and purchased three colors for Fall. The butter LONDON polishes dry fast and lasted almost 2 weeks. I love them, but I don't think I will buy more unless there is a limited edition color that I really love.

My Life: It's Kind Of A Funny Story

My name is Audrina && this is my life.

Last night I watched this move call It's Kind Of A Funny Story starring Keir Gilchrist, Zach Galifianakis and Emma Roberts. It really made me realize that everyone is unhappy with their lives. You can be the coolest, richest, most attractive person ever and still be unhappy. I now know that I'm not alone. This movie really touched me and made me cry. I started thinking a lot about my life after watching it && I now realize that I shouldn't be like "Ugh my life sucks! WaaWaahWhha!" But, I should think about the positive things in my life and why my life is awesome. I should stop worrying and just...live.

Rating:
PG-13

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque

My hair always starts getting dry and losing its shine in October. To maintain its shine I like to use hair masques. For the past few years I have been using homemade masks just because I didn't really know of one that was good quality at the store. But, two weeks ago I went shopping and came across this hair masque.

I am in LOVE! I use this once a week and it leaves my hair soft, shiny and manageable. My hair tangles quite easily but I find that this deep conditioner has repaired a lot of damage and it keeps my hair from knotting up. It's a bit pricey but it's worth every penny.

All About Eyeshadow Primers && Bases

Does you eyeshadow crease? Or fade through the day? Or not show up vibrantly? If any of these apply to you then fear not, all you need is to read this article and then go buy a eyeshadow primer or base!

Difference between eye pimers and bases:
Primer is used to prevent any sort of creasing of your eyeshadow. Creasing of your eyeshadow makes it look crusty, which you don't want. Primer also helps your eyeshadow blend out easier while its on your eye and last all day long.
Bases are usually a plain cream color that is used to help make your eyes pop or to make them look more refined. Sometimes, the base will be tinted. For example, if you're going for a look with purple eyeshadow, you might want to use a base that has a purple tint to it, so that the finished look looks really nice. White eye bases will make the eyeshadow you are using appear a lot more vibrant.

Now on to my favorites.

Primers:
Urban Decay Primer Potion $18
Lorac Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow Primer $20

Bare Esentuals Prime Time Eyelid Primer $16
Loreal De-Crease Eye Primer $8

Bases:
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils $3
MAC Paint Pots $16.50
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows $18
Maybelline Dream Mousse Shadow $6-$8
