My Life: December in Disney

My name is Audrina && this is my life.

Wow! I can't believe the year is coming to an end. It was an amazing year though. My favorite part of the whole year was definitely summer break, but a close second was these last few days that I got to spend it Walt Disney World in Florida.

I've been to Disney Land here in California many times, but never to Disney World. The one in California is about the size of Disney World's Magic Kingdom. Which still leaves Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney, should I go on? Point is that it way over powers Disney Land. I had an absolutely amazing time!

I thought I would share my top 10 favorite rides that I went on.
In no particular order:
  • Tower of Terror (Hollywood Studios)
  • Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)
  • Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)
  • Mission Space (EPCOT)
  • Test Track (EPCOT)
  • Soarin' (EPCOT)
  • Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
  • Thunder Mountain Railroad (Magic Kingdom)
  • Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
  • Buzz Lightyear (Magic Kingdom)
I also loved seeing the stage shows, holiday parades and of course meeting my favorite characters!

Kissable Lips For New Years

Want soft, kissable lips for new years? Even if you aren't kissing someone special this year, dry lips are never attractive. So here is a quick way of getting rid of them.

Homemade Lip Scrub
  • Sugar
  • Honey
Mix the sugar and honey together to get a thick pasty consistency. Then apply to your lips like a lip balm. Finally remove with a paper towel or just lick it off!

Lip Balm

Some of my favorite lip balms that help with healing your lips include:
  • EOS Lipbalm (Sweet Mint is my favorite)
  • Burt's Bees
  • SoftLips (Vanilla is my favorite)
  • Nivea A Kiss of Milk and Honey
  • Rosebud Lip Salve

Trend Alert: Sleek Ponytail

Many celebrities have been seen rocking this new hairstyle lately and honestly its one of the most easiest things ever!

Steps
1. Straighten your hair to the point were it is pin straight.

2. Gather your hair at a place where you would like you ponytail. (Keep it higher than usual.) At this point you can either use a brush to ensure the hair on top is tight with no lumps or bumps and sleek or back comb under the hair around the front of your head to add volume (but don’t forget to smooth the top of your hair down after and spray with hairspray to hold in place) then secure your ponytail with a hair elastic.

3. Spray a generous amount of hairspray to hold your style in place.

*** A great tip if you don’t want your hair elastic to showing is to take a small section of your hair and wrap it around to cover the elastic then secure with a bobby pin.

Glam Paperself Lashes

Scorpion, deers, seahorses, butterflies peacocks all on you eyes? Sounds crazy, but I company called PAPERSELF makes these amazing false lashes. These lashes are probably not the best thing for everyday wear, but I think they would be great for photos, dances and major events.

Official Description: Like jewelry for the eyes, PAPERSELF eyelashes are designed with intricate patterns inspired by the art of Chinese paper-cutting. Eyelashes blend an element of traditional culture with contemporary design. Each design has a symbolic meaning: Deer & Butterfly (free, beautiful, and sensitive), Peacock (auspicious and lucky days), Peach Blossoms (love is coming), and Under the Sea (secret treasure). The lashes can be cut and combined in various ways for different occasions. Accentuate the corners of your eyes with the smaller lashes for a subtle daytime look, or make a statement with the full lashes for a special occasion. PAPERSELF's innovative lashes have created a whole new concept of eyelashes in the market.

Vera Wang Princess Night

Happy Monday Everyone! I can't believe I just said that! I hate Mondays, but this might cheer up your lame Monday: A new Vera Wang fragrance has just launched called Princess Night! It is a more glamorous take on the original Princess.

The scent is described exotic notes of watermelon, berries, jasmine petals, orange blossom and passion rose and vanilla. I think this is different that the original because it has more floral notes to it. However, it reminds me of the original because it still has a sweet base note.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous! The bottle is still the signature heart shape, but has been encrusted with black and purple glitter and the top crown changed to silver instead of the original gold. Purple is my favorite color automatically making this bottle a new favorite of mine!

Price:
$60 for 1.7 oz
$75 for 3.4 oz

Trend Alert: Collar Necklaces + DIY!

Before I get into the Do It Yourself (DIY) instructions, I'm just going to let you know a little bit about this trend. The first place I saw this was on Free People's website and I fell in love with it! As you guys have probably seen bow ties have been a big trend among girls for the past year. I wasn't a big fan of that, but I'm very excited about this trend because I think it is more girly and cute.

Originally Priced from $300- $800. The one I made cost me $6 and it was fun to make!

DIY

Materials:
  • A piece of felt. You can use any color
  • Sequins, beads, studs, pearls, lace or anything you want to decorate with
  •  Ribbon for tying it
  •  Scissors
  •  Hot glue gun
  •  Paper and marker
Instructions:
  1. Make a template with a piece of paper: draw one half of the collar on the paper and cut it out. It should look like a comma. Place it on the felt and trace with a felt marker, then flip the template over so it looks like a complete collar and trace that half too.
  2. Cut out the collar. Don’t cut them separately, make sure the two halves are connected when you cut so you don’t end up with two pieces.
  3. With a hot glue gun glue on whatever you want to decorate with. If using sequins, try to overlap them so as not to leave any spaces. Its easiest to put the glue on the felt in patches then put many on at one time.
  4. Cut two pieces of ribbon of equal length. Flip the collar over and glue them where the collar ends. Make sure they are long enough to tie.
  5. That's it! Tie the ribbon and pair it with any black tee or even a boring sweater to glam it up a bit.

This is the original one I saw on Free People. Then after researching it I found a whole bunch more! Here are some of my favorites!

All original necklaces are made by the brand Dannijo.

My Life: Tumblr Obsession

My name is Audrina && this is my life.

This weekend has been so unproductive for me. It all started Friday night when I was bored out of my mind. All of my friends were at a rival school basketball game (which we ended up winning!) and I was at home. Why you may ask? Well, originally one of my friends and I were going to go and see New Year's Eve, but she texted me at 3pm saying that she was super sick and I should just go to the game. Unfortunately my dumb phone skipped over that message (it does that some times) and I didn't end up seeing the message till 5:30pm. I couldn't go to the game because it is out of city, 1 hour away plus traffic. So I spent my Friday night bored at home.

Somehow I got on Tumblr and made an account. I started following people and posting/reblogging pictures right away. I was hooked! (and I still am!) I encourage anyone who does not have a Tumblr to make one!

Tarte Ring It In Set Review & Swatches

Left to Right: Luster, Flawless, Vivid
The Tarte Ring It In Set is a perfect gift to treat yourself or someone you love this holiday season. The set comes with 3 limited edition cheek stains, exclusive to this set plus, a gorgeous gold adjustable cocktail ring! (Forgot to take picture of the ring, sorry!)

Clockwise from top: Vivid, Lustre, Flawless
All of these colors have a slight sheen to them, which it great because it makes your skin look glowy! The color payoff is pretty sheer, especially for Flawless, however Vivid and Luster are more vibrant.  Vivid looks hot fuchsia in the tube, but is much more wearable when swatched. Luster is a color perfect for the girls with medium, olive or dark skin. It gives your skin a very nice natural looking bronze glow. If your fair this color might not be the best for you, unless you use a very slight amount. Luster is probably my favorite out of all of the colors.

Vivid

Vivid Swatch
Luster
Luster Swatch
Flawless

Flawless Swatch

The formula of these cheek stains is kind of almost like a gel. It sounds weird, but I love it! You have just enough time to work with the stain as you need before it drys. Also these smell absolutely amazing!

Price: $25 (compared to one full sized for $30 I'd say that's a pretty good deal!)

Madonna Truth or Dare

Madonna is going to be releasing a new fragrance exclusive to Macy’s in April 2012. Madonna says “I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well. Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare.”

Truth or Dare by Madonna will be a floral fragrance with a blend of narcotic florals, addictive woods and vanilla. The bottle is a very classy white with some edgy detail. I for one am very excited about this new fragrance!
